English Language GCSE success for Vs (Year 11) this January

Congratulations to our Vs who achieved a 100% pass rate in their English Language GCSE exam and received their results this week. The Vs sat this exam in November 2025, six months earlier than the rest of their GCSE examinations that will take place in the summer. A fantastic 52.5% of all grades achieved are at 7-9 (equivalent to A-A**).

Deputy Head Academic Simon Smith said on Thursday, when the results were announced, “Today our first cohort of girls to follow the November exam pathway received their results and we are delighted for them. Taking a GCSE early has several benefits including being able to focus on one subject, good practice and preparation for the summer exam series and one fewer exam in May.”

“Tudor Hall is in the top 3.5% of schools for value added at GCSE, equivalent to adding one grade per subject per pupil. We work closely with the girls to achieve their best possible result, with some pupils achieving a level that is several grades above their original ‘working at’ grade.”

Headmistress Julie Lodrick added, “At a time when the girls are receiving their mock results and considering Sixth Form subjects, we believe these GCSE results will give the girls and their parents great confidence going into this summer.”
