Headmistress Julie Lodrick's Christmas message to the Tudor Hall community

"On this Christmas Day, as we gather in gratitude and reflection, I send my warmest wishes to girls, parents, staff, Old Tudorians, and friends near and far."

"This year, we have been united in celebration, for 2025 marks the 175th anniversary of our beloved school - a remarkable milestone in the life of Tudor Hall. As part of these celebrations, we continue to proudly live as a community by our enduring motto: habeo ut dem ‘I have that I may give.’ It is a phrase that runs through our blood, woven into the DNA of Tudor Hall, and it remains a perfect rallying cry as we continue our commitment to service.

Our girls have given generously of themselves: supporting local primary schools, working with Sparrow School in South Africa and Heal Paradise in India to stand beside pupils whose daily needs are great, and embracing every opportunity to offer time, companionship, and kindness.

The Charity Committee’s work continues apace. Our ever-popular Dog Show once again raised vital funds for Dogs for Good; the whole school ran, laughed, and cheered their way through the Santa Fun Run in aid of Katharine House Hospice; and our London Carol Service offered beautiful singing and wonderful readings in support of the auto-immune research charity F.A.I.R. (Funding Auto-Immune Research).

This birthday year has also brought immense joy as we welcomed Old Tudorians, former parents and former staff back to Tudor. We were delighted to host Nesta’s and Priscilla’s girls for afternoon tea, and to witness the official cake-cutting by the oldest Old Tudorian present, Mrs Susan Darby - from the class of 1948 - alongside the youngest girl, Molly.

In partnership with the Woodland Trust, 175 trees have been planted, a living testament to our past and a gift for our future. And we look forward with anticipation to the OT Art Exhibition in March.

As we turn our eyes to Tudor’s next 175 years, we are thrilled to have launched Campaign 175 for the refurbishment of the Hall into a contemporary, high-tech facility worthy of the extraordinary activity and ambition that thrive here.

On this special Christmas Day, may I wish you and your family peace, joy, and a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year.

A very Happy Christmas to you all."
