My love for hockey started from when I was very young. At the age of 7 I was encouraged to go to Banbury Hockey Club for extra training as well at school. Since then hockey has become my number one passion and I spent most of my time training and competing. I am still part of Banbury Hockey Club and I am currently playing in the 1st team. In addition, I have been selected to play for the Oxfordshire County hockey team for the last 6 years, from U13s to U17s. I was first selected for the Oxfordshire County team at the age of 11 for the U13 squad. Through playing county hockey I was put forward to the junior regional performance centre where I was selected to represent the Oxford centre in the tier 1 match days. From those trials, I was selected be a non-traveling reserve for the South England team, which put me in the top 20 players in my age group in the south for the U15s. Playing for Banbury Hockey also meant I was able to get involved in the mixed team which consisted of players from the men’s and women’s 1st teams. This was a great experience for me and I had the chance to play at Lee Valley hockey centre for the semi-finals and the finals where we became mixed national champions. Recently I have been selected for the England hockey performance centre for South Midlands where I attend training sessions and take part in weekend training and competitions.
