Tudor Hall School Website: News Archive
Todd Orienteering
| Todd spent Sunday afternoon doing teambuilding activties in the school grounds. The two outpost instructors who ran it were called Louise and Mark. The first thing we got given was a map of the school and a piece of thick paper with a picture on it. The task was to get into twos or threes, then the outpost instructors told us that we had to know everywhere in the whole school and to know where all the signs and symbols were. After we had thought about it we were off. We had to find were the symbol or sign was in the school grounds. After we found the first card we had to run back to the main hall were the outpost instructors were and show them exactly were on the map it was. it was harder than it sounds because you had to get it just right. When everyone had finished that task, nearly everyone was exhausted. |

On the second task we had to give someone a place to walk to and we couldn’t talk to the person who was taking us there: It didn’t really work very well as everyone was telling them to go this way when they wanted to go that way. After being filled up by the delicious Sunday roast we had half an hour until we had to be back at the main hall for our next task. We had a map of the whole school again but this one was more accurate. The places were marked on the map where we needed to find a cutter to stamp were we had been. |

After a quick break we had to do the same task but without an instructor. There were about 11 places we had to find in about 50 minutes. On number six we came across barbed wire. Imogen said we should climb over it but we said no because it won’t take us anywhere. She ignored us and had to go in to see were it would lead to. She was in there for about five minutes until she said: “can I come out please?” And we got a stick and opened it. We finished second by loosing 1 point. Afterwards it was time to go home.
It was a really fun day for Todd and very tiring but we really enjoyed it.
