‘Fest’
Emma Brown (Dickinson) very kindly invited several old Tudorians to her lovely home in Stoke Lyne for what we have named a ‘Fest’. Having supplied Emma with the addresses of OTs living in her postal code area she set forth on selecting her guests and what a splendid occasion it was. Most of the OTs there were from the Margaret Blyth era, most were recognisable, most has children (some several) and all were in cracking form. Diana Muirhead, Penny Dowdeswell (Miss Forbes as was), Harriet Granville and myself were also given an invitation. It was really lovely to meet up with so many of those familiar faces and catch up on their careers and in some cases meet their children (perhaps one or two of their little ‘princesses’ will grace the walls of Tudor one day soon!)
I once heard someone say that you could recognise an Old Tudorian anywhere and I think that it is a very true statement. I have met so many on social occasions during this past two years they have all been pleasant, friendly, chatty and with a confidence to take them anywhere. A very special breed! All credit to the school.
A big thank you to Emma and Hugo (a brave man who held his own amongst so many women) for inviting us to their home, for fortifying us superbly and for producing a really delicious lunch held in beautiful surroundings on a lovely day.
