This programme is all about self-development. It focuses on helping our girls to improve existing skills and gain new talents, abilities or perspectives.

Girls make new friends, develop social and inter-personal skills, and increase their initiative, organisational skills, independence and self-confidence as well as their tenacity. The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (D of E) is available to all girls at Tudor Hall from the Spring term of the IIIs. Participation in the scheme will encourage girls to be committed to a range of school activities. There are three levels of D of E Awards: Bronze (taken in the IIIs and IVs), Silver (IVs and Vs), and Gold in the Sixth Form, with Gold being the highest. At each level, four activities must be completed: a skill, a physical recreation, a service and expeditions. In addition, at Gold level, each girl must attend a five-day residential activity of her choice. Expeditions take place over long weekends within term or during the Easter or Summer holidays.
