While everyone else was putting up their Christmas trees at home, a small group of sixth formers headed off to Madrid to improve their language skills and learn more about Spanish life and culture.

Ms Stobbart and Miss Welsh took the group to the Palacio Real, the Reina Sofia Art Gallery where they were impressed by Picasso's "Guernica", the Plaza de Toros and the Retiro Park.

 The group sampled lots of typical Spanish food and spent a day in a Spanish school.

The highlight was seeing Chicago in Spanish!
