Science is always fun ...
What has Tudor Hall got to offer?

Well, first of all, it’s a small and friendly school where everyone seems to know everyone else.  That helps you a lot because it means that the teachers can tell when you’re struggling and need extra help (or when you’re not working hard enough, unfortunately).

There’s lots of fun stuff to do, both in and out of lessons.   For instance, we have different musical activities, lots of plays and a fair number of interesting visits each term.  We have many different clubs, which include: pottery, cooking, astronomy, junior debating and dog walking.

Of course, we also do sports and games: lacrosse, netball and riding, for example.

We have ICT lessons where we learn about computers and how to use them.  We all do the CLAIT course and work towards gaining certificates and diplomas in the various ICT skills.

GCSE

The compulsory subjects at GCSE are:

English Language,

English Literature,

a Modern Foreign Language (French, German or Spanish usually),

Maths,

Science,

and a Humanities subject (History, Geography or RS).

We then have to choose 3 (or sometimes 4) extra subjects from a list that includes:

Art,

Design and Technology,

Drama,

Latin,

Music,

PE

and Textiles.

Sixth Form

Most girls stay on at Tudor Hall after the Vs (Year 11) and go into the Sixth Form.

We get a lot of advice from teachers and careers experts about what we should do as our four AS subjects in the Lower 6th.  We get a free choice from the 20 subjects that are available, though of course it’s sensible to choose those that we enjoy and will be useful for our chosen careers.

There are also some GCSE subjects you can do in the 6th form.

Sixth form life is not all study, though – girls are involved in Community Service, the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme, World Challenge as well as a range of team and individual activities.

In some ways the school is like a big family.  We get more privileges and responsibilities as we go up the school.
