Cathie Brook’s (nee Hawke) Reunion – Class of 1956/1957
I shared the occasion with my classmate Biddy Moreton who lives only three miles away. We held it on Wednesday 10th June and asked everyone to arrive any time after 12 noon. Biddy and I produced lunch, Pimms and wine and what I hope was a good lunch. Others helped with some of the food. Out of 18 of us 13 came, which was excellent. Paula Balsa was the only person neither I nor anyone else had any knowledge of. All letters to her were returned. We had two husbands present - mine and Biddy’s. We live in a rambling old farm house so there was plenty of room for parking and walking about the garden. Photos were looked at from the old days which was interesting. People came from Malta, Derbyshire, and Northamptonshire which was wonderful. It really was such fun and I only wished the day could have gone on much longer.

Adel MacNicol’s (nee Richmond-Watson) Fest at Stody, Norfolk – 21 September 2009
 |
It was a beautiful day and the gardens looked wonderful for Adel’s splendid gathering of OTs and friends of Tudor. She commanded a team of efficient helpers who produced a most delicious lunch washed down with chilled white wine or elderflower. Many thank yous, not only to Adel, but to Georgina, Jenny and Sarah for their hard work. Sandra Blakey and I were delighted to see so many, some who remembered happy days at Burnt Norton, others from Priscilla’s reign and even more who had served under Maggie Blyth or Nanette Godfrey. It was a new but successful departure to include parents of OTs as well; we were able to gain much valuable information from the Fellowes, Cators, Howards, Jewsons and Barclays to name but a few. It was lovely to be introduced to the next generation and to hear news of Norfolk babies. It was sad that Arabella had a horrid bug and could not be present but I am quite sure that Ian was proudly surveying the scene from the rhododendrons. Thank you, Adel, for a memorably happy occasion.
