Private study.
Entrance procedure
If you are interested in your daughter having a place at the school you may register her at any time. Registration forms are available from the Registrar and the cost is £100. Timing of registration does not confer any advantage with regard to allocation of places

Once you have registered you will be kept informed of forthcoming Open Days (normally in September and May) and will be formally invited to one of these in the year prior to entry.  If you then wish to proceed with the application you should complete the Final Confirmation of Entry Form and return it to the Registrar together with a cheque for £200.

The daughters of parents who have confirmed their interest in the school will be invited to one of our interview days in September/October of the year prior to entry when a programme of tests and activities including an interview with the Headmistress, will take place. The purpose of this day is to allow the school to assess the suitability of candidates for the school and you will be given feedback as to whether Tudor Hall is viewed as the right school for your daughter.  We will request references from current schools at this stage.

Selection of pupils will depend on a range of factors from the list below:

  • Suitability for the school in terms of character attributes
  • Academic ability.  Although a range of ability exists at the school, it is essential that all pupils can cope with the standard of work
  • Particular strengths in one area, such as Art, Sport, Drama and Music
  • School reference
  • Personal circumstances.

The school intake does include girls who may have a specific learning difficulty, but they need to fulfil the entrance requirements.

All 11+ and 13+ girls should be entered for Common Entrance with the ISEB by the appropriate date (normally December 1St  for 11+ and March 1St  for 13+).  Candidates who wish to apply for an academic scholarship at 13+ should be entered for Spring CE.  Girls who have an Educational Psychologist's report indicating the need for extra time will be granted this for the CE examination.

Girls who are successful at CE will be offered places and these should be accepted by the deadline specified or they will be offered to girls on the reserve list.

All new girls and their parents will be invited to spend a morning at the school during the summer term prior to the September of entry.

12+ Entry - Tudor Hall sets papers in Mathematics, English and Science and these are sent to the prep schools to administer to coincide with the 11+ Common Entrance examinations.  However, girls can be offered places as a result of Common Entrance at 11+ to be deferred for a year.

16+ Entry - Will be dependent on an interview, school report and verbal reasoning paper.

In all cases parents will be asked to sign the school contract to confirm places.

Entry into the school from another secondary school
Please indicate your interest in Tudor Hall to the Head of your daughter's school before references are requested in line with GSA protocol.
