Many of you might well wonder what on earth we mean by “fest”. It is the brainchild of Harriet Granville designed to stimulate action amongst Old Tudorians.
Our definition is “an informal occasion designed as you wish - maybe a drinks party, lunch or supper party at home or in a restaurant with husbands or without.” We would like guests ideally to be mixed age groups of Old Tudorians.
We can supply the names and addresses of Old Tudorians living in your area helping you to draw up a guest list. A small donation per head from the Old Tudorian account has been agreed with the Bursar.
Diana Copley (nee Wingfield) was brave enough to hold the first fest in the Warwickshire/Oxfordshire area. Twenty OTs enjoyed drinks in Diana’s lovely Cotswold garden followed by a delicious buffet lunch. It was a wonderful mixture of age groups, some had lived close to each other for a long time and had no idea that they were Old Tudorians, some were parents of girls already at the school and some were prospective parents with a Tudor connection. Since then Old Tudorians from Northamptonshire, Leicestershire, Herefordshire, the Welsh borders and Norfolk have given their time to organise an event.
