World Challenge, 2008

Tudor has been getting maximum exposure lately and well deserved, judging by our results this year.

This weekend, September 13th, we had a leading feature article in the Financial Times and have been ranked 65th out of 250 schools listed in the Telegraph Independent Schools A Level results.

It is not only our results that are attracting attention. In the Telegraph magazine we feature in an article on extra curricular activities in schools ‘with no time for the cottonwool curriculum.’

With 87.8% of students gaining A or B grade at A2 it has propelled us up the rankings a massive 179 places, making us the highest riser in the UK since 2006.

The FT states: ‘The academic drive has been led by the outstanding leadership of the head and the governing body, according to the independent school inspectorate.’

Miss Griffiths, headmistress, told the FT: ‘We celebrate people who achieve and perform to their best and reach their potential. This year’s 88 per cent of entries at A and B grade is very gratifying and a tribute to the hard work of the girls and staff.’

An all round education together with the extra-curricular activities are what makes Tudor truly special. There is always something going on at the weekend; whether it’s an outward bound experience such as Duke of Edinburgh or teambuilding there is always a personal challenge to achieve. Outdoor learning experiences are compulsory for Years 7-9 and a year 9 party have just recently returned from a trekking adventure in Morocco.
