Science day: Reaching out to the community
Printer friendly page Email this article
During June, the science department organised a two day festival for the juniors, along with 97 pupils from local prep schools, designed to bring science to life and interest students in the subject from a very early age.

On the first day pupils were introduced to some amazing experiments involving electricity, amber and light. They then split into small groups and were allowed to take part in some more wonderful experiments ranging from smashing bananas to making slime….urgh!
On the second day they were able to hold cockroaches, scorpions and even Molly the preying mantis. Another activity involved fishing in a pond full of creepy crawlies and some of them were able to catch dragonfly nymphs.

Feedback from a Todd: “All in all we all had a brilliant time, seeing some really cool science experiments which were witnessed both by Tudor Hall pupils and other younger pupils, helping to inspire us all in the mysterious world of science”.
