On Thursday 28th February a very close match at Leicestershire Lawn Tennis Club saw Tudor Hall senior tennis team playing an extremely tight match with Wyggeston QEI College.
L.Arkell and L.Buckley both won their singles and doubles seeing us into a Championship tiebreak for a place in the Finals. A.Tyser and S.Liddell stepped up, as our first pair but also having lost both their singles and doubles against their respective players. A gripping tiebreak resulted in a phenomenal win for Tudor Hall, seeing us through to the National Finals of the Senior Students' Tennis Competition for the second time in three years!
L.Arkell, A.Tyser, S.Liddell and S.Twiston-Davies accompanied Mrs Pym and Miss Danizio up to the Bolton Arena for two days packed with tennis. The girls played extremely well in some very tough matches. Tudor were the only school in our group with no LTA rated players and so did incredibly well to be in the top eight nationally! We forced two of our three matches to tie breaks at three sets all, but unfortunately never secured a whole match. A great experience for them all, and with three members of our team at Tudor only in the 5th Year, I hope that we can get back to Bolton and do even better next year. Well done girls.
