Todd mountain biking

On Sunday Todd Boarders woke up to some delicious muffins for breakfast. We then met the day girls at C1, the first courtyard classroom. We met Paddy and Mark, our two outpost instructors there. We first had a chat about what type of cycling we had done in the past.
Secondly, we were put into two groups to do a challenge. We had to put sticky paper on each part of the bike. Each team had their own one. We had to fix our bikes so that they were brand new again. That was great fun; our team’s bike was coated from top to bottom in mud. Annie and Francesca spent a lot of the time cleaning it, complaining about how filthy it was to Paddy, as it was his! Every one of us had to fix at least two things that were broken. At the end of that we gathered in a circle and said at least one exciting thing that we had learnt. |

We all met back in the classroom at 1:15. They took us to get two bikes - one for each team. All of us went down to the walled gardens (tennis courts). Oh my gosh! There were two twisty courses set out wiggling across the courts. We took it in turns to practise cycling the course without going off the yellow lines, otherwise we would get time penalties. At last came the contest. Everybody had to do it without getting to many time penalties. My team lost. It was so competitive!
We all got our own bike next, fitted helmets, and we were off to our free wheeling contest. Down the track and away! We went off one by one down the steep track, down the drive and in front of main school. Whoopee!!
We had had so much fun and were thrilled. At the end of the day we were exhausted of how much we had done.
