1997-2002 Old Tudorians were invited back to Tudor for a University Fair/ forum/ matches/ drinks/ picnics and tour of the new buildings. Sadly the response from OTs did not come up to expectations and we were left inviting OTs from a much wider year span. Fear not, the day turned out to be a great success, certainly much quality if not quantity.

Eleven Universities were represented and a span of subjects from Journalism, Veterinary Medicine, Teaching, Languages, Economics, Accountancy, History of Art, Art, Medicine and Human Genetics were there to be discussed.

It was lovely to see so many familiar faces and we were particularly grateful to the more senior OTs, now in the working world, who so eloquently talked about their careers, the pluses and minuses of taking a gap year, surviving on a University allowance and the importance of joining clubs and societies. The Vth and VIth form were very positive in their approach to questioning and with UCAS forms looming we hope that the OTs have helped to make the mysteries of University life clearer with an insight into a world beyond Tudor.

After a picnic lunch and for some, a tour of the new buildings which included the library, dining hall and health centre everyone congregated for what has become the annual Old Girls v School Hockey Match. We were blessed with a hot sunny day and thanks to the efforts of Zara Wingfield Digby who gallantly gathered a team together we took on the might of the school. It proved to be an all action match, fast flowing, a little breathless at times but a magnificent effort from everyone. We lost the match 2-4 but not to worry, 2008 will present a new challenge!

All OTs who came to Tudor made a huge contribution to the day and a big thank you to them for making it such a successful event. I would just like to mention Harriet, a doctor in the British Army who is about to embark on a six month tour of duty in Afghanistan. We so appreciated her coming to Tudor at a time when she could easily have been with her family. Our thoughts are with you Harriet, stay safe.
